Yesterday in Singapore I signed a co-development agreement with the Singapore Media Development Authority on behalf of South West Screen. The contract is the fulfilment of a conversation started in December 2008 and I have developed the scheme with the MDA over the intervening 12 months.
Open to all digital media or production companies from the South West, the project will promote partnerships and collaborations between Singapore and UK businesses in multiplatform content development – creating global opportunities and seeking to generate new revenues across both Europe and Asia.
After an application process 2 projects will be selected to receive co-development funding of £25k each – with a planned announcement of successful partnerships at MIP TV.
The press conference yesterday received extensive coverage in Asia, including Channel News Asia, Singapore Business Times and Xinhua News Agency.
