- France / French = sophistication and is referenced everywhere, signifying aspiration; Britain = punk / rebellion, almost invisible.
- Tokyo businesses in the ad tech / mobile space are way more focused on the emerging markets of SE Asia, e.g. Indonesia, as a primary strategic objective ahead of any thought of EU market expansion.
The last time I was in Japan was 19 years ago and whilst it’s still a very different place, some of the “culture shock” has gone – still trying to work out if it’s me, them or the internet.
That said Japan is like nowhere else and if anyone wants me to do anything in Tokyo, just shout!
